Back to Ko Samui, Thailand. You can see why I would want to stay. Notice how calm the sea is. Just like a lake. And that's the big Buddha off in the distance. The Hindu-ish Buddha. Today was the first of three sea days. We got our tails kicked today. Two captain's parties (where he introduces all of the department heads) then two shows. And the new musical director is going to wear us out. She's a show player and uncomfortable just playing standards. So we play charts on everything. The MD before was a good jazz piano player so on nights when we had to play so much, he'd play tunes and maybe one of us would play the melody and solo on each one and the other guys could rest. You might end up playing on one or two songs per set. That ain't gonna happen with this girl. She's the type that does nothing on the fly. We played an half our of big band music and then went straight into the production show. Twice. And the first show was a real drag because she got the tempos too slow and everything seemed to drag along. But the singers must have said something to her. (Plus the rest of the band took the new drummer aside and told him to push all of the tempos.) Whatever happened, it worked because the second show was much better. We had got an hour back last night and another one tonight. I had to set my system clock to Yekaterinburg, Russia to get the correct hour. Never even heard of it! And the whole band is off tomorrow except for the bassist and drummer. Who are going to get THEIR tails kicked tomorrow. By one of the true prima-donna concert pianists working ships. I thought the last guys that worked with him were going to quit after that one. 'Around the World with Naki Ataman.' I never realized the world was so big until I heard that show. Ciao...KR

A former agent with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in Atlanta was sentenced Thursday to 21 months in prison for failing to report cash income for 2004.

Gregory Campion, 38, now of Orlando, Fla., was also sentenced by U.S. District Judge Jack T. Camp to perform 100 hours of community service. The sentence was increased because Judge Camp found that a substantial portion of the unreported income came from illegal activity, which was not contested. Specifically, Campion did not contest the Government’s evidence that the funds were stolen from drug money seized in narcotics investigations.

Between 2003 and 2005 Campion was an assistant supervisor at a DEA task force office in Atlanta, where he had access to millions of dollars of cash seized from suspected drug traffickers. Several seizures conducted during this time were “short,” meaning the final amount counted by the bank was thousands of dollars less than the original amount seized.

During 2004, Campion deposited more than $200,000 in cash in his accounts, none of which was reported as income on his tax returns. He had been placed on administrative leave in 2005, and resigned his position at DEA when he pleaded guilty to the federal charge. Campion was indicted in March 2006, and pleaded guilty in March 2008 to tax evasion.

I've been tinkering with OpenCyc yet again, along with putting together the framework for a chatbot system.My idea is as follows:
Get a word list that allows me to reference the parts of speech for any english word.
Create a system which parses words, sentences, paragraphs, pages, chapters, and books (conceptual, just a large number of related chapters.)
Record the valid structures for each construct (sentences, paragraphs, etc.) Each type of sentence will be correlated to a particular Cyc microtheory. This will allow me to assign a meta-data tag to any given sentence that is known. A Microtheory is a concept in the Cyc ontology system that encapsulates particular ideas that may be factually or semantically different than other concepts. Think of inheritance and polymorphism, but utilized to create a heirarchical view of the world, using hundreds of thousands of basic common sense concepts and millions of assertions related to those concepts. It allows an AI system to use the proper granularity for arbitrary contexts, by drawing on inferences, hypotheses, and static data.The problem with most chatbots is lack of real intelligent flexibility. You can create a billion template/response structures and your bot will imitate intelligent conversation, but what you're really doing is an if/then routine over and over again. It takes only 3 degrees of separation between the original input and confusing the 'natural' train of thought before you hit the limitations of most chatbots based on this structure.However, training a bot over time on actual conversation has some serious drawbacks as well. You end up with rules being created on the fly that may be entirely wrong, with no way of preventing it unless you edit the data manually.My solution is to semantically tag valid english sentence structures, and assign a particular microtheory to each tag, or class of tags. By using those tags in Cyc microtheories, telling the system what questions it has to answer about particular sentences in order to 'understand' them, I can create an input parser that takes any given english sentences and store them as semantically valid data constructs.Once stored, I will again turn to Cyc and classify sentence types, and potential 'proper' responses for particular sentence classes. Statements, queries, imperatives, and so on will each have responses appropriate to their semantic data. I will program responses and link the response categories to each sentence class.So I have a concept for a chatbot system which can take arbitrary (syntactically valid) english sentences, understand them by linking them to an ontological database and creating new concepts as necessary, and return a response based on the actual content of the sentence.I've gotten a few Cyc microtheories drawn up. I have a 210,000 word 'parts of speech' database. What I need now is ideas for large quantities of text which I can parse to get as broad a range as possible for sentence, paragraph, page, chapter, and book structures.Does anyone know where I can find really large corpora?A potential offshoot of this is classification of corpora, and using each class as inputs in a neural net, in order to train patterns specific to styles of writing and genre... so you could create a microtheory that described a story, and have the chatbot output a novel. Given a large enough corpus, you could train on particular authors' styles of writing. I would of course market this software, make millions of dollars, and take over the world.Anyway, what I'm looking for is ideas as to where to look for parsable data. I'd need structured content, like news articles, books, and so on. The only hardcoding I'm going to do is for things like predictive spellchecking for unknown words, and dealing with broad classes of inputs and responses. I'm hoping that such a system would be able to handle specific inputs and outputs dynamically, and easily pass the Turing test.I'm also considering IRC logs, chatroom logs, and other "conversation" corpora, but those present problems such as slang, deliberate misspellings, horrible grammar, and extreme ambiguity. I think I should leap one hurdle at a time... so the first is a consistent, pre-edited, dry corpus.

Discernment?

I am blessed with what I thought was discernment on a spiritual level. Well I am unless I let my emotion creep in as evidenced of the last few wives. Well guess what had to go?. The same thing is true for a diagnosis. Given a good doctor and a good exam you can discern a group of symptoms to come up with a diagnosis. What would prove better would be to avoid the thing that is causing the cancerous growth when it is at the two or less cellular stage. Such dietary changes as low fat/ no sugar would avoid /prevent and treat some early dysfunctions of immuno- surveillance, as well as diminish cardiovascular mishaps (MI/Stroke) This is the job of the cancer markers of the future to come up with. This is another case against fossil fuels. One can avoid cancer in some cases by avoiding coming into contact with them. This will be the next “ cigarette Harm” for the lawyers to run up big bills for themselves in class action suits.

Nevertheless, we do have certain cancer markers that can point one to a suspicion of growths that are not supposed to be there CEA, for GI, PSA and . The question is what do you do with the information? At this point would there be any benefit other than enrichment of HMO/ hospital CEOs to surgery , radiotherapy or chemotherapy ? Would there be any benefit to anything else.

Immunotherapy with vaccines, receptor blockers, and cytokine manipulation does hold out much hope, especially for the leukemias, and for pancreatic and renal cancers.. There is hope on the way. It is only by imitating that we can begin to learn. Yet the beauty of improvisation is that we imitate until we get our own figures and practice schedule to begin to accomplish the acquisition of VOICE.
Certainly the word is out! Mr. Lee Konitz has a voice and still at 80 plus is alive and kickin' while taking no prisoners. He does not need to, as he has weathered storms to be able to play as he did at the Jazz Standard in New York recently with Rufus Reid on bass.
Maybe for the likes of Mr. Konitz, we can contemplate a club of that sort in Houston. Can we handle it?.

Either way I am tricked as a trick. Characteristically these types of "professionals' expect payment in advance. The service delivered is expected to satisfy whether it does or does not.
I give some good big brother advice from the left brain for the right brain and the whole brain in general to all those who heed. My problems are precipitated by Hypoglycemia but I give you the results of the converse. It is from Hyperinsulinemia that both problems exist. I thank God for my enemies including those who are cryptic, in denial substance abusers. If it had not been for them I would not write as much for therapy and have patience with them not kicking off into ........ I do realize that this is not a racial issue. Why do we need the KU Klux Klan when we have those tied into the "legal"-correctional syndrome making the poor poorer. This is a time for faith.

If it had not been for the Lord on my side I would not be here. All will help me become a better spokesperson for the oppressed.

The definitive pertpetuation of the lack of income problem is by my enemies use of Adsense in Google, Yahoo, and other search engines warranting the expenditure of ranking me high in denigrating incomplete information. It does not take a rocket scientist to realize how the enemy works.

The Physical Problem

The correction of the misfortune of sustained hyperglycemia, has the potential for amelioration of several disease states including cancer, hypertension, heart disease, thrombotic disorders including acute cardiovascular syndrome/stroke, and renal disease. THIS IS A NUTRITIONAL PROBLEM - EATING TOO MUCH. The correction of the culpable hyperinsulinemia in the presence of glucose and its receptor dysfunction has the potential for development of cures that are of a universal nature. All seem to be related to mitogenesis, thrombosis, Na/K pump dysfunction cardiac/renal dysfunction, and smooth muscle dysfunction. The cardiovascular dysfunction as it relates to smooth muscle function in general appear, to be related to the Na/K+ pump which dysfunctions under the control of hyperglycemia which promotes it. It will take time and concentration to unravel the puzzle but for my patients, nothing is too much to ask. I ask for your patience and prayers, and I know that it will be possible to give you potential cures. I should have kept serious about this since 1983 and because of my enemies I will cure them and solve disease mystery if God says the same within 3 years.
DO NOT CARBO-LOAD AND DO THE ATKINS DIET. THIS CAN BE FATAL. Hold on to good diet as a habit. At least if you do we may be able to reverse the disease that you start. We will know what to study just past the Human Genome Results. Hold on!

HERE IS THE ADVISE FOR SURVIVAL

NUMBER 1
The first is to remove all traces of granulated sugar from your house including candy, ect. It is killing you softly. This is whether or not you have a known problem with sugar or not. This should be put away only for emergencies to sustain life. Pray on this. PUT THIS AWAY WITH YOUR EMRGENCY WATER (7 GALLONS) POWDERED MILK, BATTERIES, FLASHLIGHTS,
TURKEY, DEAR JERKY and SALTED PEANUTS IN THE HULLS. All of this is able to be eaten on a short term basis only FOR EMERGENCIES.

Number 2
Exercise. This improves the Na/K pumps by getting you in shape to deliver a higher partial pressure of O2 to your cells and maximize AEROBIC metabolism. A potential for diminution in arterial-alveolar mismatch and greater “breath getting” occurs.

Number 3.
High dose vitamin C . This act of reduction can only be accomplished by 2- 3 grams of vitamin C per day with plenty of water (3 8-Oz glasses minimum.) This will protect you from cancer, heart disease and any other disease involoving clotting.

Number 4.
Aspirin . Each day by blocking arachadonic acid formation and PGE2 formation , you increase the Na/K pump efficiency. Your cooperation can protect life namely yours until this puzzle is unraveled. It will be with the help of AMIE. One thing is for sure. You should not overeat, but eat small meals in frequent intervals with low fat when possible and never with high sugar and high fat at the same time. It may kill you on the spot. Your body was not fearlessly and wonderfully made to do this. Take care of your temple
The science is in and has been in for all of the recommendations above preventing cancer, hypertension, kidney disease, diabetes complications, heart disease, stroke and ……….

Wash your hands 3 times in diswashing fluid after touching any oil by-product before you eat.

This was the time of on the job education and it has died. This picture depicts the professors that were training the trainees. It was sort of a sponsorship mentorship thing. Most of us except for me gave all their instructions in love. There were few rivalries. If they began they were soon quelched by tribal leaders such as Spookey Dancey. No one could be a Prima Donna in false pride. This picture show Left to Right Richard Waters, Claudia Burson, Johhny Pena with Spookey Dancey reading a music chart i BELIEVE.

Of course we say in part because the executive producer Terry Thomas is not featured in this photo as are most heroes, doing their work quietly without letting the right hand know what the left is doing .... until provoked.

Professors Clay and Boykins were selfless in their instruction to all who would listen like Sonny Stitt. The club Sambuca was built around the needs of the musicians like James Clay. I was working an emergency room by day in University Park in Dallas.

Due to the Willie Lynch mentality of the underlings, it is only by grace of God that I am alive today.

Jazz is not of this world. Well yes it was originally as it was being developed in its immature infancy and while under its initial oppression of the state and in the whorehouse. But now as an art form, the test in these last days is whether Jezebel likes it or not. If she does not like it , it is not of the world. He/She can not work her magic on the Johns or Johnettes who are thinking with the right brain and listening to jazz. If Jezebel does not like it, there is a sort of lack of a second (as in Robert's Rules of Order). There I go getting political again talking about religious people. This is why there is no desire for Blue Grass either (jazz also) with all that good pickin' goin' on.

Neither the watchdog nor the watchman as musician in the pew can afford to play the animal that sticks its head in the sand to prevent the enemy from advancing. The enemy is in us. Our lusts, and desires and pride. The world and self is anti family and anti-creation period. Not only ant-jazz which is creative.

There should be a clarion call to arms against self with prayer. There should be prayer for anyone who is suspected of showing a noose having read the Turner Dairies. Yet we need to read the Turner Diaries, and know that these are the last days. This is just one of the many misinterpretations of a person who does not love himself. Ther reason why I know is that I have had a first cousin to these insecurities. We need to pray for self and the sick-Ohs, and thank God that accept by grace go I.

Another problem is that it (jazz) does not have a place to lay its head, rest, recuperate, rehearse, reiterate, run or relax outside of clubs that sell liquor. The consequence of this fact is grave and foreboding if you do not have faith. It is not like we can go to Jones Hall once a week and play it or listen to it. It is only because of racism and self-hatred that we are not allowed a legitimate home... in America! Yet the daily reprieve of a few places like Walker's Fine Foods, has does and will allow for the proliferation of the idiom.

Thank God for those Walker brothers and for any parent that teaches their progeny the true history with LPs , pictures, movies or whatever to prevent self-hatred. If not a part of us as Americans dies.

Even if I was crazy enough to think it, my belief system would not allow me to continue to absorb the belief and have faith in mixing politics with religion. Well it is here. Just what you have been complaining that you do not have. A top notch jazz club. Well it takes a little more than name to make it. In fact the quality is dictated by the leader of the group and the rythym section. Well Legends has just that in The Woody Whit Trio @ Legends on Wednesday. Some of the Legends included Scott Conti and Ichy on guitar, not to mention yours truly on flute and sop. sax. Even the sound man sat in on Tenor and flute. Mr. Carmouche even sat in.

Dr. Whit with David Craig and Clyde Adams attract a wide array of "sit-ins" with a multitude of challenging tunes to play as requested. It reminds me of the old days @ Garcias or at the Ritzy with Prof Conrad Johnson.

This occurred to me. Tell me what you think. If there is such a thing as " life imitating art" this is it. Life being the actualization of spiritual things, death being the actualization of fleshy-carnal things that we sometimes and at various and sundry times given deceptive information about. This misinformation usually has to do with the consistency of presenting sensuality as having exclusivity as to the experience of "having fun". Aint that a XIOW*&^#)L . Sometimes our leaders even lead us astray in order to maintain a cause-effect, co-dependence post "mess-up" after our inevitable mess up.

All of those in the drawn picture (2 below) have been acting out in life what the picture is depicting since the picture was drawn by the artist over 20 years ago. Namely an actualization of life through the art of music that is played for the sake of performance only. As did the court have musicians that played for royalty in Europe and the East, there was music played to engage the mind requiring a concentration on volume , note and pitch. There was music to dance that got people beheaded. Then there was music to dance to.

The music that we call Jazz has been involved in a myopic mindset with repect to the public since about the 50's. Only for a brief period during the Charlie Parker era did we have a music that we could just listen to without dancing like Beethoven's 5th or a Mozart Fugue.

Yet jazz to listen to has survived. This is in spite of a mulititude of challenges by GOD'S GRACE My belief is that jazz represents a fortaste ot heavenly praise. Praise is during a time of wilderness and when we have our needs met there is little praise. When we are in need or in grief we were and still do praise Him in one form or another. I can say this because of the knowing of both having a confession of belief in the death for sins and belief in His resurection, and a subsequent chatisement with the subsequent praise that follows

His Grace is sufficient always and is realized by an individual every now and then who suffers in spite of the injustices they suffer. Our PAIN MANAGEMENT as jazz musicians toward ourselves, ends up utilizing the tools of the music instead messing with other things that are externalized. That is if we are "allowed to play". If not there is an internal struggle worthy of the strongest's 4th step. Only 3-4 % can survive their genius being maniculed, hogtied and muzzled. Thus is the story of oppression in any historical context.

Yet in allowing the ox to perform, the genius is manifested as a result of the spiritual hunger which is desirous of expression. This expression ends up being out through the soul to a kinesiologic connection to the instrument or voice.

If muzzled then frustrated genius results, and herein lays the paradoxical problem. (The "dream deferred"). Due to our invention being labled as of the devil its cost not demand was driven way down. In addition its development has involved addictions. It is not that there is an obligatory involvement of drugs, they end up being an initial cheap (later expensive) substitution for the God inhabiting praise experience with alcohol being the chief drug. It is sort of like Saul trying to give an offering before Samuel was there in the Old Testament. The ubiquitous nature of drugs as part of the hidden of those supervising and implementing the War on Drugs, provides them in order to pimp every bit of juice out of our communities in these last days.

Our wives and husbands as unevenly yoked laugh at our offerings of praise to our God and mock them, while even destoying CDs and stealing the means of production. We are "allowed" to pray and praise with practice at our homes while practicing out our behavior before we enter the world and its system. Stanley Turrentine was told to " Go get a job at the Post Office!"
Are we impervious to falls, pain, scrapes, temptations to covet, mental illness, and evil that is in the quagmire of this world? What do you think? You do the math.

The one thing I know should happen is for the Physician to heal himself of SELF. Music makes this paradigm of praise possible and for the prophet to be potentially made powerless through this praise. A rest on the musical page is analogous and homonymously typical of this power manifestaion. No note played just a rest. Have you entered His rest lately? We need to accept a submission.

There were gentlemen who although they are not living are still praising as aforementioned within the picture below. If they were living they would be praising on the earth . Not getting too deep, but all of the people except for two are alive, (the two = Clarence "Grissle" Holiman and Herman Hawkins) . We continue to do what they are doing on the picture by God's grace. All of those alive are performing for the Lord whenever possible but occasionally we share the music with the people who appreciate it sooooo much especially at some venues. The access to ther ability to praise Him is purely by God's grace also.

It is a God thing when we praise in public. The people in the audience let you know it immediately with smiles, and loving embraces that are the love in action. I promise you, if you like some did not get it in your church that week(love that is), there is a balm in Gilead. This may be why there is a necessity to prostitute the music with alcohol sales, with few exceptions as in Da Camera. The people will seek it no matter what.

I do not want to appear sacriligeous or suggest that you go to a venue to hear music to be healed, but it does happen without anything external from time time WHEREVER AND WHENEVER AND WHOEVER HE DECIDES IT SHOULD HAPPEN TO AND FOR. It just happened to have occurred at a VENUE on 2-18-08 for me. You will know when you go back , that something was missing or out of sorts. I have had this healing in church also. The call to make the healing pay off with service should be called out at the venue and the church.

I wish there was a way we could get Rev. Carl Adams (trumpet) to come out. Given the proper venue, he will. (no Alcohol sales) This is how serious it can get! We do feel that we are afforded an opportunity to express praise occasionally in certain places other than the church. We should and we will.
In praising Jesus, He is present and I know somewhere in my being that God is pleased with our sacrifice of praise of "speaking in tongues" while the audience interprets the tongue spoken by the speaker who (unlike Dixieland) speaks through his or her solo by voice or instrument.
To reiterate, my belief is that those that have moved on, have moved IN to that place called Heaven and are praising the Savour all the day long. One day we shall behold Him!
It will be a praise thing .

SUMMARY : My prayer is that you find a place in your house to kneel and pray and say "God grant me the serenity to accept anything I can not change, the courage to change the things that I can and the wisdom to know the difference. Then just praise Him with song ,speaking in tongues, and/or just clapping. Put your favorite jazz cut on and sing a psalm to it. Or better yet
take the Tracks of My Tears and change the words to be Gospel. Please excuse the mispels .

This is quite a picture. I thought it was about time to share it with you . It was put together with the help of Joe Medwick Veasey, whose idea was to write songs dedicated to Mickey Leland. I was renting from his brother Gaston Leland at 2916 Blodgett at the time.
It was quite a time and we were all saddened by the first the disappearance and then the confirmed death of Mickey, especially since his wife was expecting twins. He was the community! Joe felt this and no matter how much people have tried to denigrate him, let me say this again, his heart was as big as a 10 pound watermelon. It was only in his dream of memoralizing Mickey that this project was put together.
